Reading the recent events of Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog Comic Series, I wanted to draw Sally, cause she's pretty. I really love her comic design, it's gotta be the long hair, that I made oh so shiny and put lotsa colors into it.
Sonic and Sally have been apart in their relationship for a year, in comics releasing, not the passing of time in the comic itself, just cause Sonic is just, well, a show-off guy, which is normal for Sonic, but he's just so stupid and impulsive sometimes, so they called it off for a bit. So while Sonic is able to go find another girl in Mobius, cause there's many, there's no other guy (so far) for Sally. I feel bad for her cause Sonic's out with other chica's. Though Sally did almost get married to Antoine of all people, but not the Real Antoine, he was kinda mirror/evil version of Antoine that wanted the throne and was going to kill her father and just marry her for the position, yada, yada, etc. But her brother Elias, who I thought was dead, showed up, so yeah things are better. You know they get back together, cause hey there was a whole side series that was Mobius 25 years later and they were married with two kids XD
I've always liked Sally's character, particularly in the Saturday Morning Cartoon back in 1993. She's a Princess, but a Freedom Fighter at the same time and is the brains of the group... when Roter's not there. Lately in the comics, she's had to take her royal role because of her father being ill, so she's not there as much. I like Sally, though not as much as I love Bunnie, which I hope to draw soon as well.
Anyway, the image itself: Yes, I know Shar shouldn't draw Furry's and Anthro's not her thing. The random occassions I do do them, I'm never imensly dissapointed with my work, just not as proud as other things. I took the pose from one of the comics, but made her more rounded, especially the eyes and hair, and gave her longer legs just for proportion and looking-better-purposes, sometimes the art in StH gets really square and jagged and hideous. I used my old coloring style: coloring very dark with prisma's so they almost look like markers. I used the blender a little just cause the brown for her fur was being dumb.
There's one artist of the comic that left a while ago, or he just does the Knuckles series or something... but I really miss that artist doing the main-stream story art T_T. Spaz's Cover art rocks as always.
